Week 1.5 (June 16, 2021)

Hello Parkcrest families and members!

What a whirlwind week it has been…we just had the return of our Family Float Night, and it has been an amazing couple days of lessons. However, enough has happened in the last few days where I feel it warrants a mid-week update outside of my usual Fridays, thus this email. Big shoutout to all the submissions for naming this newsletter — they were all so creative! — I have officially dubbed this publication The Penguin Press.

A. Parkcrest Tennis is Back!

I am so incredibly happy to announce that, thanks to the help of the PC community, we were able to find two wonderful Tennis Pros to revive Parkcrest’s tennis program. Their names are Alex Svaitoslavsky and Ian Connell, and I will make a formal introduction later on this week. Right now, the important part is tennis lesson registration. The tennis schedule can be found on the website here. Classes are either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday, with alternating Fridays depending on the week. Lessons will start on the 21st, and end with the concurrent Session 1 lessons on July 9. Registration will open June 16, at 6:00 PM CDT and close on Friday, June 18 at noon. I will be very limited in my ability to switch swim lessons to accommodate tennis lessons, and I apologize for this inconvenience. There are a large number of selections available, however, and I believe we will have the space to accommodate everyone’s schedule and provide tennis lessons for all members. For Session 2 signups, we will have ALL lesson offerings available online.

B. Lessons M/W and T/R Schedule

I apologize for not being clear about this earlier, but if you are in a Monday/Wednesday (A) or Tuesday/Thursday (B) class (Water Ballet, Diving, or Tennis), you still have class on some Fridays! Each Friday is an alternating week for each lesson. This week is a M/W or an “A” Friday, so all Monday/Wednesday classes will meet for lessons this Friday, June 18. Next Friday, June 25, will be a T/R, or “B”, Friday. I will inform instructors to remind their students tomorrow.

C. Upcoming Events Reminders
