Hey Penguins – we are so happy to be back in 2022.
We are excited to continue with our co-head coaches – Kate Yehle and Jack Bell, and assistant coach Zach Strobel. Kate and Jack are familiar faces to most Penguins – both are life long Penguin divers. Both have reached podium finishes in many All City Meets. Jack and Kate both dove for Madison Memorial and dove at the State meets at least once ( COVID canceled their senior years). Kate completed her 1st year of diving in college at Macalester College in MN, and Jack dove and swam at Luther College in IA. Fun fact – Coach Kate’s and Coach Jack’s college teams dove AGANIST each other in a few collegiate meets – a first for our forever teammates!
Here’s a bit more about our coaches –
Coach Kate Yehle is a rising Sophomore at Macalester College in MN. She had a great freshman season as a diver on the Macalester Women’s dive team. Kate is an alumni of Madison Memorial, class of 2021, competing in Diving and Gymnastics for all 4 years. Kate has been a diving Penguin since age 10, an Assistant Dive coach for two years and will return for her second year as Co- head coach. Kate loves coaching Penguin divers because she can help kids overcome their fears and accomplish great things while having fun. Kate’s favorite dive is an inward 1 1/2 tuck.
Coach Jack Bell is a rising Sophomore at Luther College in Decorah, IA. Jack is a member of Luther College Swim Team and Dive Team, 2x Conference Champion ( 1 meter and 3 meter) & National Qualifier on 1 Meter and 3 meter. He is also an Alumni of Memorial HS Swim & Dive Team, Spent 14 years in All-City League as a PC Penguin. 2 years as Assistant Dive Coach, 1 year as Co-Head Dive coach. Jack says he loves the atmosphere and excitement kids get when competing in the all-city league, it’s one big celebration of the sports of swimming and diving, and kids get the chance to grow so much. His Favorite food is AcaÍ Bowls and his favorite dive is a Front 1 1/2, 2 Twist off of a 3-meter board.
PC dive is fortunate to welcome Zach Strobel back as the Assistant Dive coach. Zach is finishing his senior year at Madison Memorial and will be attending UW Madison in the Fall. Zach swam and played soccer for Madison Memorial. Zach returns for his second year coaching at Parkcrest, and while Zach grew up diving and swimming as a Ridgewood Greenbun he is excited to dive for Parkcrest for his senior season. Zach loves coaching and says having the ability to create a fun and safe environment, while seeing improvement in all divers is most rewarding to Zach as a coach. Zach’s favorite dive is a full twisting 1 1/2 – we can’t wait to see it!
