Hello, Parkcrest Members!
The Parkcrest Board of Directors hopes this letter finds you and yours healthy and safe during these unprecedented times.
You may have noticed the pool has been drained and cleaned. You probably also heard about the state Supreme Court ruling to strike down the state’s Safer at Home Order and the issuance of new guidance from local health experts for resuming activities, including pools.
So we wanted to share some thoughts about our plans for the pool this summer and, hopefully, answer some of your questions.
Yes, we plan to open the pool this summer. Our current focus is how to operate it safely for our members and staff, and what activities we can offer under the requirements set by Public Health Madison Dane County in its Forward Dane plan. Given the guidance in that plan, we intend to fill and start heating the pools once they are cleaned. We will let members know when an opening date is set.
That being said, this summer at Parkcrest will be different. There will be capacity limits and we will not be able to offer all our normal activities, for both kids and adults. Board members are working with Holly to put together a plan that will address member access to pool areas, criteria for regular disinfecting and cleaning of pool areas, and activities we will be able to offer at the initial opening. We are placing an emphasis on safety and the ability to quickly adjust any plans if guidance from local health experts changes. We will share that plan as soon as it is completed.
The board’s plan may also include adjustments to membership packages and dues, given that normal services and activities will likely be limited this summer.
Please know our most important priority this summer, like all others, is the health and safety of our members and staff. Our expectation is that all members and staff will engage in appropriate social distancing and other requirements per current Dane County orders. Failure to comply may result in loss of pool privileges.
