April 22, 2020 – Parkcrest Update

Hi Parkcrest Members,

Since registration opened at the beginning of March, the outlook for this summer has continued to evolve on what feels like a daily basis. The Parkcrest Board met earlier in April and we would like to provide you a brief update on preparations for the weeks and months ahead.

Like everyone, we are monitoring recommendations from the CDC, the State of Wisconsin, and Public Health Madison & Dane County. We know the pool is important to the community and we intend to open it if we can do so in a safe, responsible manner that fits into the guidelines health officials provide.

With Thursday’s extension of the Safer-At-Home order beyond Memorial Day, we know it is extremely unlikely Parkcrest will open Memorial Day weekend. A number of variables will dictate when and how we open the pool. Right now, we are planning for a number of scenarios and will continue to provide updates throughout the upcoming weeks. We are keeping registration open. If you have already registered and paid, we will address fee adjustments or refunds once we have more details.

At this time, the board has made the decision to lock the tennis and basketball courts to discourage gatherings that might violate the Safer-At-Home order.

The All-City Board is meeting separately about plans for the summer swim and dive seasons and we will share any important updates or decisions they make.

I hope everyone is healthy and continues to be well.

Thanks,
Jason Brown
